TEEB X IRTHI CRAFTS COUNCIL
Course Name: Design Thinking
Year Produced: 2021
Description: Teeb is a brand we developed as a team of five for our design management cap stone course in collaboration with Irthi Crafts Council. This project aimed to preserve the heritage of the UAE's Dkhoon craft making process. Dkhoon is a scented paste which is burnt on a piece of charcoal to release its aroma. The process is an extremely complicated one and we just wanted to raise more awareness around this craft but also give people the opportunity to participate in making their own. Therefore, we developed a Dkhoon kit that makes Dkhoon making accessible to anyone. However, we also wanted to design an entire experience that presents the stories of artisans in order to cherish and praise these skills and talents. Our design research involved observations, interviews and questionnaires that allowed us to develop an archive of Dkhoon recipes and the stories behind each recipe. We also wanted to ensure the Dkhoon scents are original recipes but still appealed to the current market perfume taste.

Chandelier Typography
Course name: Visual Communication
Year Produced: 2018
Concept: The goal of this project was to experiment with different typography styles and understand the effect of color on feelings and emotions. I decided to work with the lyrics of the famous song Chandelier by Sia. The song has a sad tone to it and thus this explains the choice of dull colors. After experimenting with the lyrics layout design, it made sense to reflect the title of the song and create a chandelier of three different layers out of the songs lyrics.
Result: Typography poster of the chandelier song in the shape of a three layered chandelier.
Project Label: Chandlier Typography, Print, 11.7"X16.5, 2018.
